The Liberal Democrat candidate for Pendle is, methinks, a tad needled. The Ladbrokes 40-1 rank outsider, Afzal Anwar, doesn’t like being labelled silent and invisible. Anwar is out to raise his profile. Have a look at www.pendlelibdems.org.uk/news/000071/labour_mp_needs_to_go_to_specsavers.html It spoils the effect, though, using a photo which was taken in Burnley. Not in Pendle. This is all knockabout stuff. Here’s the serious point. The Lib Dems in Pendle have saddled themselves with a very weak candidate. If they are even remotely serious about winning, their candidate must start speaking out on the controversial and difficult issues of the day. I'm listening.
