A useful CBC website, Compass, guides you to the political party where you would feel most at home. Why can’t we have something like this in the UK? Hosted by the BBC. Why not? The 30 plus questions – on topics familiar to most Canadians – are not too taxing, can be answered in a jiffy and place you on the political spectrum. You can follow the campaign as it unfolds through the party websites: the Conservatives, Liberals, NDP, Greens and the Bloc Quebecois. 308 (the number of MPs in the Ottawa Parliament) lets you follow the polls. TUC March and Rally The TUC march and rally in London makes it on to the CBC’s National – the flagship news programme viewed across Canada. Paul Novak from the TUC gets plenty of time to get the serious message across. But, inevitably, the anarchist airheads capture the headlines. After his latest gaffe, Calamity Clegg, looks more vulnerable than ever with the predatory Chris Huhne waiting in the wings. Roll on 5 May.
