My blog posts about the Lib Dem candidate, Afzal Anwar, educating his sons in Pakistan have prompted a flurry of e mails. Some contain very detailed information.

He has deceived Pendle voters and, perhaps, those in his own Party.

Anwar’s two sons were withdrawn from school in Pendle when they were aged 11 and 9 in 2007.  They have been in Pakistan for almost three years now.  They are enrolled at a school in Kharian Cantt.  The tragic family bereavement occurred on 27 December 2008.  I have other information that I am not posting.

Anwar should make an immediate statement explaining why he sought to mislead the voters.

If he chooses not to do this, it will all come out after the election.

He is a barrister and should think carefully about the consequences of saying things he knows to be untrue.
