Last night I was at the official opening of the splendid new Pendle Community Credit Union shop in central Nelson at the corner of Manchester Road and Stanley Street (54 Manchester Road).

It is in a terrific, unmissable location and I hope its membership will zoom as a result.

I am member number 555 out of 3,600 or so. But with a catchment area of around 100,000 people there is huge scope for growing the membership.
